Your Teaching School Hub for 2024-2028
We are delighted to confirm that KTSH has been successfully re-designated to serve the south, east and west of Kent until August 2028. Thank you to our fantastic facilitators and the KTSH team who have worked with over 3000 teachers in 550 schools during our first 3 years. We are pleased to continue to provide initial teacher training, Appropriate Body services, Early Career Framework and National Professional Qualifications for our region.
đŠ Important AB Message: Registering New ECTs
Do you have an ECT who joined your school this term? All ECTs must be registered with an Appropriate Body (AB) by Tuesday 15th October. Failure to do so may mean that your ECT can not count this half term towards their induction.
To register with KTSH AB service please email abs@ktsh.org.uk or you can add a new ECT yourself using ECT Manager.
đ ITT Applications Opening Soon
DfE applications for the 2025-2026 initial teacher training cohort will open on the DfE application portal on 8th October 2024.
Our KTSH teacher training partner, Teach Kent & Sussex are looking for new schools to host trainee placements next year. Please email contact@teachkentandsussex.org.uk or click here to find out more.
How can You Support Initial Teacher Training?
All schools can play a crucial role in helping to recruit and train the next generation of teachers by:
Promoting teaching as a profession and sharing recruitment information with your school community.
Sharing your expertise through Intensive Training and Practice (ITAP) activities.
Providing trainee placements
The DfE have asked all teaching school hubs to support teacher recruitment in their area by working with all ITT providers and schools.
Our ITT engagement lead Rebecca Hunter hunter@ktsh.org.uk. will be contacting you with more information and ideas later this term, and is always happy to hear from schools who would like to be more involved in ITT.
KTSH Programmes for 2024-2025
